“How was the world race?”

…..

lifechanging.

Before the race, I sacrificed my quiet times for studying, the gym, or friends.

Before the race, I was walking in the fear of man.

Before the race, it was difficult for me to see my own sin but easy for me to see the sin of others.

Before the race, I wasn’t fully receiving God’s grace which didn’t allow me to give it to others.

Before the race, I held bitterness and unforgiveness.

Before the race, it was hard for me to share the gospel to strangers.

Before the race, I often focused on tasks more than the people around me.

Before the race, I didn’t know how to rest or sabbath.

Before the race, I wasn’t living in dependence on God.

Before the race, I didn’t know what it looked like to be undignified before the Lord.

Before the race, I wasn’t sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

Before the race, I wondered what it would be like to live overseas.

Before the race, I had difficulty being vulnerable with community.

Before the race, I doubted if God would truly provide for me.

Before the race, I was doing everything in my own strength- not His.

Before the race, I lacked people to speak truth and love into my identity as a daughter of Christ.

Before the race, I stored up treasure on this earth instead of in heaven.

Before the race, I cared a lot about my image like how I dressed and what I looked like.

Before the race, I was searching to become closer to God.

This year, God has rewritten all of these statements. He has brought me from one glory to another glory !! A new creation set apart for His good plan & works !! He has revealed a world of wisdom and love through His people and His word.

There is a parable in scripture that describe the kingdom of heaven like a treasure. In the parable, a man finds the treasure and chooses to sell everything for the sake of buying the field to keep the treasure. I think that is a sweet way that encompasses how The World Race has changed me and my life- am I willing to give up everything for the sake of following Jesus and for telling others about Him? I feel as though I have found that precious treasure that I want to keep so close to my heart and give freely away to others.

Thank you to The World Race for responding to the great commission and for allowing so many others to step into what God has for them. Thank you to P squad for living lives of relentless pursuance of God and holiness, lives that are set apart, and lives that run towards the lost and broken. And thank you to my supporters for all of your prayers, encouragement, texts, and calls. You have helped to bring the kingdom here to this earth.

I am home now. I have moved into a studio apartment in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I am adjusting to being home- seeing friends & family, resting, reflecting on this year, and preparing for graduate school in September. While I may struggle to answer your question of “How was it?”, I can be sure that it was absolutely life changing.

Please reach out if you would like to chat- we can get coffee or we can set up a call! I’d love to share with you what God has done in and through me. 651-764-2709 🙂
